Triple Tray Impressions

(using the Articulated Triple Tray System)

1. Determine if the die portion of the Triple Tray
impression is upper or lower. If
upper, then select an Upper Pin-Locator
(as shown above).
2. Determine which size Pin-Locator matches
the tooth location best. It is suggested
that you start with the medium (green) size because
most impressions will fall into
the medium category.
Use
a black indelible marker to mark the tip of the first molar pointer (the
one with the protruding index on each side as shown above). This will
help make sure the molar pointer is indeed over the first molar position
in the impression. Also, it really helps to take a fine point indelible
marker and carefully blacken the top part of the engraved words "UPPER" and
"LOWER." You will soon start to remember that all of the uppers have
female hinges and the lowers have male hinges.
